replacement belt size?

Hi.

I have an ATL60 that needs a new belt. Can you please tell me what size belt is appropriate.

Thanks.
You can first contact Audiotechnica. If they are unable to help you or you just want a better belt you can get a replace from LP gear

Is it ok to scratch on this turntable....

...considering the automatic belt drive and the atn 3600 stylus. (Not trying to be a dj but record a few scratching sounds as samples).

Thanks in advance
You could, but I would not recommend it. It would probably damge your motor and belt. It most certainly would damge your stylus.

Bad sound quality

I came across a receiver and a phono preamp and hooked up the turntable to the preamp and then to the receiver, complete with a brand new set of Sony monitors, great speakers.

I also hooked up my media center PC via Line and that sounds great with this setup. The turntable sounds terrible though, what could I possibly be doing wrong? Is this a stylus issue, maybe?
Make sure you output selector is set to phono and not to line. This would overload your phono preamp causing a great deal of distortion

Can I put another slipmat on the one that comes by default?

I recently bought this player, and I have another slipmat that I bought several months ago and I want to use it, but I'd also like to keep the one that comes with the player. So can I put my slipmat on top of the default one?

Won't be there any problem with the needle and tone arm? Since the record will be slightly higher (5 mm or so I guess) due to the 2nd slipmat?

Thank you!
You should never stack slipmats. It changes your tracking force and VTA. This will ruin sound quality and lead to increased stylus and record wear

Upgrading stylus?

I know the replacement stylus is the atn3600 or whatever, but is there a better stylus available to change to?
There are better stylus availabe from LP gear. They offer scanning radi and line stylus for the atn 3600. I have a scanning radi stylus and it greatly improved the sound. They also offer better belt that improve speed consistancy. This makekes this turntable compete with unit costing a great deal more.

Thanks.

is the dust cover on the AT-LP60 model removable?

yes it is removable. I advise doing so if you have a subwoofer or speaker capable fo producing low bass to avoid feedback. But remember to put it back on after listening to avoid bust colecting on the turntable
