How well will the ATR3350 work for violin pick-up?
I'm looking for a budget lavalier to clip to a violin to provide live sound reinforcement. Reasonably low distortion is important. Perfectly flat response is not. Will not be used for recording.
We will be using this mic on a violin. As per past experience, I will put it in a larger foam windscreen, and we will slide it under the tailpiece. This has worked well with several lavalier mics in the past. We have had no problems with picking up other instruments and it proves to be superior to using a mic in a stand near the violin. The larger windscreen provides padding to protect the finish of the violin, and keeps the mic in place. The signal is clean, pure and a joy for the soundpeople.
