Increase volume

I just purchased this mic and am using it with my iPhone 4 with the adapter. Trying to shoot a video with iPhone. I inserted the battery according to diagram, but volume on mike is very low. I do have the switch to on. How do I increase the volume?

I have the same concern. The adapter is pushed completely into the iphone 4s. I do not have a case on the phone.

When I blow across the mic, the sound is picked up, but the volume of my voice is so low as to be virtually impossible to hear.
I bought a new battery in case that was the problem,but it is still the same.
Help needed asap please as I have some videos to do urgently.
