How Long:Less than a month
Before hand just know that this review is coming from someone who's just using the headphones to listen to music during my daily college commute and at home for relaxation so don't take the criticism as a studio editor.
Anyways:
I received my headphones 48 hours ago and the first impression was that they look a bit too flexible and fragile which is not true, they are pretty durable just the filling on the headband looks like it might fall off eventually lol. Also they do squish my head just a little bit which makes it so I can't use them for over 3-4 hours like I would.
The quality of the sound is pretty awesome, you can feel the bass in a moderate way that it has a bit of a vibration to your ears that feels good and doesn't hurt you, the only downfall I found to the sound was that the vocals are a bit of a background to the music rather than being the focus point. It still sounds amazing but if you want to really listen to lyrics and not focus on the bass/treble etc then you have to focus in.
The flexibility of the headphones is sometimes annoying when I try to put them on because it just turns around by itself and I have to keep fixing them and they look a bit big on my head but that might be because it's my first over the ear headphones.
I also noticed a small thing that everyone who's had these seems to lie about.
- The sound does leak through the headphones a little, it's manageable but if you play the sound at full volume on a mobile device it will leak to a point where it's almost a low volume speaker.
I love the removable cable and the idea behind it (Wish they release a removable cable with a mic).
Other than the down-sides mentioned I'm pretty satisfied with the M50x I received which I purchased through Amazon, however, I really wish the BL edition had came out with the original black so I wouldn't have to think about whether or not i'll return mines to get the BL.
Pros durable, great sound, can become mobile, extremely light, fits perfect over the ear
Cons headband looks fragile, vocals volume falls a bit behind instruments, looks big on head, sound leaks a little

Are the ATH M50x comfortable for mobile devices?

I previously asked a question comparing three different types of headphones - Including the M50x and got a well developed answer. However, I wanted to know if I made a right choice picking the M50x over other headphones for just listening to musing on my mobiled device (Windows 8 Phone)

Well did I pick the right headphones for my commute to college, or did I pick something too subjective towards Studio Recording?

What's the difference between the M50S and M50X?

Hey this is my first "expensive" headphone purchase and I'm just sick of the in ear headphones breaking when they fall on the ground or even when I don't use them. With that said, what's the current durability of these M50X and do they have a mic included or some form of audio control switch?

Also, what are some features that makes the M50X better than the skullcandy skullcrushers, or the Beats by Dre Exclusive?
